Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager at the law firm is tasked with leading the analysis of expense results and managing the enterprise budgeting process. This includes partnering with leaders to understand financial performance and utilizing forecasting to improve outcomes. The role is crucial in driving the adoption, utilization, and automation of relevant technology tools. Additionally, the FP&A Manager will be involved in the selection and implementation of new budget and financial reporting tools. Key responsibilities include managing the annual budget process in collaboration with budget leaders and finance leadership, conducting monthly actual to budget variance analysis, and reporting.
The essential functions include:
- Partnering with Finance Systems, IT, and software vendors to maximize technology investment for budgeting and financial reporting.
- Seeking solutions to enhance functionality, user experience, and effectiveness of budget and reporting tools.
- Managing the creation of the annual budget through collaboration with budget owners, Finance, Finance Systems, and other teams.
- Creating the budget process and timeline for the annual budget.
- Managing relationships with budget owners for timely submission of budgets and supporting them.
- Fostering open communication with business areas on questions and process improvements to ensure a smooth process.
- Managing budget review meetings with the CFO, Director of Finance, and other leaders.
- Monitoring and improving department support of the budget process through feedback and process improvements.
- Training department owners and their teams on budget tools, processes, deadlines, and expectations around monthly variance analysis.
- Ensuring quality controls by monitoring and reconciling budget information in financial tools, managing initial budget information load, and coordinating access rights.
- Conducting monthly actual to budget variance analysis and reporting to keep leadership informed.
- Implementing and executing internal controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of budget and financial reporting.
- Developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, timeliness, accuracy, and user experience of the budget process and tools.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- A college degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at a comparable level.
- A minimum of 2 years in personnel management or leading an enterprise process.
- Strong background in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency with V-lookup and pivot tables.
- Ability to lead an enterprise process and operate well under pressure.
- Ability to integrate departmental needs with those of other departments and the firm.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and partner to ensure the smooth operation of the enterprise budget process.
- Ability to analyze, assess problems, prioritize concerns, and make decisions.
- Ability to motivate and empower others toward success.
- Awareness of and willingness to abide by firm policies, particularly regarding confidentiality of financial information and securities trading.
- Ability to adapt schedule to changing workload requirements.
- Ability to interface successfully with partners, associates, clients, vendors, directors, managers, and support staff.
- Skills to coordinate various resources to help others meet their objectives.
- Acts as a role model in professionalism and problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a law firm.
- Knowledge of 3E or Elite financial system.
Salary Information:
This is a full-time position with a comprehensive health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance. The firm also offers life insurance, short-term disability plans, and retirement plans, along with holidays and paid time off. The firm provides hybrid work schedules, combining in-office and remote workdays. The salary range for this position in Atlanta is $109,300 to $163,900 annually.
