Job Title: Claims Manager, Construction

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Senior Claims Examiners and Claims Examiners II, handling low to moderately high exposure construction defect and construction property damage liability primary and excess claims.
- Report to the Director of Construction claims and convey the organization’s objectives and priorities to staff.
- Confirm coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
- Direct and monitor assignments of new loss activity for construction defect and construction property damage liability claims.
- Review and approve correspondence and reports, including coverage position letters and Large Loss Reports.
- Review and approve reserves and settlements exceeding the authority of the handling specialist.
- Recommend reserve changes to Director or Senior Management.
- Participate in review and discussion of large loss activity in the construction book with stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial, Executive Management).
- Ensure adherence to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal performance objectives.
- Assess and evaluate individual specialist and team performance, provide feedback, and develop training needs.
- Prepare and distribute reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Assist in preparation of budgets, evaluation of expenses, and assess resource needs.
- Foster and encourage strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial).
- Promote and enhance strong relationships with customers and channel partners.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Travel to other claim offices, mediations, trials, and conferences as required.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree is a plus.
- Must have or be eligible to receive claims adjuster license.
- Successful achievement of industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or I-Lead or other Management Training.
- Minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of 5 years as a Senior Claims Specialist or Executive Claims Specialist is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement.
- US Work Authorization required. Company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.

Salary Information:
- The base salary for the position is $90,500 - $150,900 with a 25% bonus potential.
- The salary offered will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
