Law firm Shumaker is seeking a highly experienced Director of Attorney Recruitment to join our dynamic team and help us continue to grow and thrive as one of the top AmLaw 200 firms in the country.

The Role:
As the Director of Attorney Recruitment, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our recruitment efforts, with a focus on strategic lateral recruitment. You will have high visibility across the firm and will be an integral part of our Executive Leadership Team. This is a full-time, on-site position with mandatory travel to all of our offices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a framework for prioritizing and evaluating strategic and routine attorney recruitment
• Manage all attorney applicants through the recruitment process
• Design and implement a workflow for on-boarding and retaining attorneys
• Develop appropriate interview techniques, training, and evaluation forms
• Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to develop a financial evaluation process for prioritizing recruitment needs
• Promote best practices for professional recruitment and retention
• Conduct exit interviews with departing lawyers to improve recruitment and retention processes

Required Qualifications:
• . or BA/BS degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in professional legal recruitment
• Knowledge of human resource management, employee relations, professional development, and compensation administration
• Proven track record of success in a large AmLaw firm or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency with technology, business applications, and social media

Physical Requirements:
• Frequent sitting for up to six hours per day
• Occasional bending and stooping
• Moderate grasping, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects under 25 pounds
