Senior Manager, International Tax
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct multinational enterprises on strategic business decisions such as location and operation, choice of entity, optimization of supply chains, and capital mobilization for global operations. This includes preparing and reviewing complex tax models that illustrate multinational entities' attributes, effective tax rate, and cash tax expense.
- Advise multinational enterprises on global tax planning decisions, considering short and long-term implications aligned with the company's broader business objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Mergers & Acquisition Tax to structure the tax aspects of multinational private equity and strategic mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs. Tasks include drafting tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models to illustrate tax benefits of alternative structures.
- Assist multinational enterprises in preparing the tax provision for financial statements and reviewing compliance work products. Provide support to audit teams in reviewing a company's financial reporting of tax implications arising from global operations and transactions.
- Provide guidance on income tax treaty planning opportunities arising from inbound and outbound cross-border investing and trading activities.
- Offer specialized international tax services to alternative investment companies, assisting at all stages of the investment life cycle for both asset managers and portfolio companies operating globally.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience in engagements involving international, mergers and acquisitions, and/or federal tax planning.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
- Must be a licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or possess a foreign equivalent. If not, there is a requirement to obtain one of the approved designations/credentials within one year from the date of hire.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of international and domestic tax law provisions.
- Strong research and writing skills, Excel modeling, and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to balance and lead multiple engagements, contribute positively to client service teams, and supervise and assist in the development and training of new and experienced staff professionals.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for California is between $159,100 and $300,400.
- Salary is determined based on relevant factors such as applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees, certifications, and market considerations.
