Salary This full-time position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. ## Real Estate Finance Paralegal Law Firm is currently looking for a talented Real Estate Finance Paralegal to join our team. This full-time position is based in Richmond and offers an attractive salary commensurate with experience. The Real Estate Finance Paralegal is assigned to specific matters, clients, projects, and/or attorneys. The Real Estate Finance Paralegal is a member of the Real Estate team and will work in the Richmond office. Paralegals report to the Office Administrator. There is an annual billing component to this role. ### Responsibilities * Research, draft, investigate, analyze and summarize facts and factual issues relevant to real estate transactions. * Conduct title and survey review and analysis * Take appropriate action to monitor and meet deadlines. * Establish priorities and work concurrently on a variety of projects. * Demonstrate good teamwork skills within and among practice groups, offices and firm to facilitate efficient delivery of legal services. * Participate in the training and professional development of other paralegals in routine practice elements. * Maintain the firm's official file utilizing the document management system. * Track and record client-billable time as required meeting minimum billable hour requirements. * Responsible for maintaining and prioritizing work on a daily basis and communicate if unable to meet daily responsibilities. * Daily tracking and recording of both billable and nonbillable work ### Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Prepare real estate transaction documents including due diligence and closing agendas. * Review and analyze title and survey documents, write reports/summaries for attorney review and work directly with title office and surveyor to address title and survey issues. * Organize and manage transaction files and deadlines to ensure on time closings. * Prepare transaction authorizing resolutions and basic lease abstracts. * Prepare real property valuation calculations for property value tax appeals. * Coordinate closing requirements and documentation with local counties. * File and record documents for specified jurisdictions. * Review settlement statements. * Ability to use sound judgement and good discretion. * Detail oriented. * Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external clients effectively and professionally. * Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. * Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop skills. * Willingness and ability to accept changing assignments and priorities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Experience with database file management systems such as iManage and a records management system. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Word). * Excellent grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills. * Use initiative in accomplishing routine assignments with minimum supervision. * Perform paralegal duties and responsibilities as directed by group leader and other attorneys in assigned substantive practice group. * Perform all assignments in strict compliance with ethical guidelines governing the practice of law. * Receive and follow complex instructions. * Being a Notary Public is a plus but not mandatory ### Education and/or Experience * Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree. * At least five (5) years of experience as a Real Estate Finance paralegal. * Paralegal Certification or equivalent. ### Salary This full-time position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
