Job Title: Tax Senior Associate, National Office (Tax Controversy)
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in tax audits, appeals, and tax authority collections matters.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve tax disputes.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare written communications intended for delivery to relevant tax authorities.
- Prepare and review documentation for tax controversy matters.
- Advise clients on tax compliance and risk management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to provide comprehensive tax solutions.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax controversy, audit, or litigation with strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
- JD, CPA, or EA required (or close to completion).
- Preferred qualifications include an LLM or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Internship or other accounting experience, specifically with the IRS or state tax authority, is preferred.
Salary Information:
- In Northern California, Southern California, Washington, Colorado, New York, and Illinois, the compensation range for this position is $80,000-$150,000.
- Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
- Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
