Legal Secretary The candidate will enhances attorney effectiveness by providing legal and administrative support to a group of assigned Attorneys. Create, edit, format and finalize a wide variety of documents including correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents. File and serve legal documents electronically or in hard copy with the various courts in accordance with court rules and attorney direction. Communicate with courts, outside counsel, clients and vendors. Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems. Open new files and ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents and maintain the firm s hard copy and electronic files. Make travel arrangements and appointments for attorney(s) and coordinate meetings, depositions, etc. Transcribe dictation. Enter billable time. Process vendor invoices, prepare check requests. Prepare expense reimbursement forms. Perform filing, photocopying, scanning, etc. Should have High School Diploma. Minimum 3-5 years of legal secretary or related experience; insurance defense experience preferred. Familiarity with State and Federal court procedures and rules. Highly organized and able to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows Applications, Internet search engines and electronic court filing and service applications.
