Paralegal - Intellectual Property Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal specializing in Intellectual Property Litigation, your primary responsibilities will include providing comprehensive legal support to attorneys within the designated practice area. This involves organizing, indexing, and maintaining case files, as well as assisting with the preparation and drafting of various legal documents such as transmittal letters, subpoenas, and case summaries for attorney review. You will be responsible for performing cite checking and Bluebooking, conducting legal research, and gathering case-related materials, including contracts, witness and expert files, and exhibits. Additionally, you will prepare and file documents with federal and state courts, arbitration and dispute resolution bodies, and government agencies. Maintaining a docketing calendar to ensure timely filings and managing a large portfolio of cases while tracking deadlines are also key responsibilities. You will prepare trial workspaces, coordinate with IT and outside vendors regarding war room equipment, and provide administrative trial support, including maintaining exhibit lists and filing court documents. A commitment to working overtime as needed, which may include weekends or holidays, is expected.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or a Paralegal Certificate, though equivalent job experience may be considered. Candidates should have at least four (4) years of related work experience. Experience with the International Trade Commission (ITC) is preferred, while experience with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and Federal Circuit is required. Trial experience is also preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) is necessary, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills. The ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and handle and maintain confidential information is crucial. Candidates should also be able to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours.
Salary Information:
The target hiring range for this position is between $66,000 and $160,000. Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is determined by market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that the law firm provides to compensate and recognize staff professionals for their work. Full-time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
