As an Applied Researcher II, you will have the opportunity to work with a cross-functional team to develop AI-powered products that will change how customers interact with their money.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with a team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Utilize a variety of technologies, including Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and more, to extract insights from large volumes of data.
- Build AI foundation models through all stages of development, from design to implementation.
- Engage in high-impact applied research to push the boundaries of AI and improve customer experiences.
- Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align your work with business goals.

- Ability to pursue a research agenda and tackle long-term projects independently.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD plus at least 2 years of experience in Applied Research or . plus at least 4 years of experience in Applied Research.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- LLM.
- Behavioral Models:
- PhD focused on topics in geometric deep learning, with multiple papers presented at relevant conferences.
- Experience with large-scale graph models and deep learning-based recommender systems.
- Contributions to open-source frameworks and proposed new methods for inference and representation learning.
- Worked with datasets of over 100 million users.
- Optimization (Training & Inference):
- PhD focused on optimizing training of large deep learning models, with experience in areas such as model sparsification and quantization.
- Deep knowledge of deep learning algorithms and optimizer design.
- Experience with compiler design.
- Finetuning:
- PhD focused on guiding large language models with further tasks, with demonstrated knowledge of transfer learning and model adaptation.
- Experience deploying a fine-tuned large language model.
- Data Preparation:
- Publications studying tokenization, data quality, dataset curation, or labeling.
- Contributions to major open-source corpora and libraries for data quality, dataset curation, or labeling.
