Job Title: Senior Technician, IS Regional Office
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior IS Technician is tasked with delivering customer support within the local office's computing environment and maintaining local area network systems and applications. This role requires occasional travel to other offices to extend similar support. Key responsibilities include:
- Offering 1st and 2nd level customer support for all IS issues, utilizing the Incident Management System to record, assign, and resolve problems.
- Documenting all changes to hardware assets in the Asset Management System.
- Configuring, testing for quality assurance, deploying, and supporting computers, smartphones, printers, and other hardware provided by the law firm.
- Managing telecoms and voicemail moves, additions, and changes.
- Supporting all remote access and remote computing solutions to non-law firm computers, including Citrix, Outlook Web Access, secure email, Virtual Machines, and other evolving solutions.
- Setting up and supporting A/V issues in the local office, including during meetings and presentations.
- Providing IS orientation and training for new hires.
- Learning and supporting new technologies related to the law firm to enhance support.
- Participating in IS meetings and calls as required.
- Offering on-call and after-hours assistance for the local office.
- Identifying and documenting office-specific IS procedures in the IS Knowledgebase.
- Occasionally traveling to other offices to provide support as described above.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure professional services environment is required.
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, Document Management, Web Apps, Citrix, VPN, and Smartphones is essential. Knowledge of Apple OS and Virtual Machines is a plus.
- A solid understanding of TCP/IP Networks and network security is necessary.
- The ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks, complete them under time constraints, and respond with the appropriate level of urgency is required.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate effectively in person, by e-mail, and telephone, and to follow instructions from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff, providing information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a sometimes high-pressure environment are essential.
Educations/Certifications:
- A BA/BS with a strong academic background is required.
- Alternatively, a Technical School Certificate or equivalent along with 5 years of experience in the IT Support field is acceptable.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000-$105,000. Compensation decisions within this range depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications. The law firm offers a competitive compensation package, which includes base pay and a discretionary year-end bonus for eligible employees.
