Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable about case law relevant to the type of law practiced by the law firm.
- Prepare cases for USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) and EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review).
- Prepare cases for consulate processing.
- Meet with clients and draft notes for various statements including asylum, extreme hardship, witness, and family court statements.
- Write simple motions such as those for adjournment, re-calendaring, Web-Ex, and prosecutorial discretion (to terminate/dismiss or administratively close cases).
- Prepare evidence packets for USCIS and EOIR cases, which involves readying materials for proceedings, including documents, evidence, and verifying factual information.
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
- E-file documents to DHS (Department of Homeland Security), and make filings to EOIR and USCIS.
- Research and compile information that helps strengthen a case.
- Communicate with lawyers and clients to ensure everyone is up to date.
- Prepare case briefs/summaries for EOIR and family court dates.
- Enter and scan information and documents into the Electronic Case Management system (Cerenade).

Education and Experience Information:
- Experience in immigration law for at least one year is preferred.
- The candidate must be proficient in Spanish, as it is a required language for the position.

Salary Information:
- The pay for this full-time position ranges from to per hour, depending on experience.

Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position with work hours from Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday as needed.
- Work is conducted in person at one location and does not involve remote work.
