A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 2–3 years of relevant experience to join its Philadelphia office. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic team handling complex professional liability matters. This in-person role (with office located at 1528 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA) offers a collaborative environment and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of professional liability cases, including but not limited to securities disputes, legal malpractice claims, architects and engineers liability, employment litigation, and insurance agent matters

  • Conduct detailed legal research to inform case strategies and draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

  • Take and defend depositions, and represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Collaborate with partners and support staff to ensure the timely completion of filings and adherence to procedural deadlines

  • Analyze case facts, develop arguments, and prepare briefs for court submissions

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of billable hours per firm and client guidelines

Requirements

  • Admission to both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar associations (or eligibility for reciprocal admission)

  • 2–3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably focused on professional liability or related complex business disputes

  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail

  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active Pennsylvania Bar admission

  • Active New Jersey Bar admission (or eligibility for waiver)

Skills

  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities, with meticulous proofreading and analytical skills

  • Effective oral advocacy and negotiation skills, demonstrating confidence in depositions and courtroom settings

  • Proficiency in drafting clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents

  • Ability to distill complex legal issues into core components and develop strategic arguments

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client consultations and collaboration with colleagues
