Job Title: Family Law Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption. This involves supporting the legal team throughout the entire lifecycle of a case, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to represent clients effectively.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information, utilizing legal databases such as Lexis-Nexis to ensure that attorneys are well-informed and prepared for case proceedings.
- Prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and affidavits, which are crucial for advancing legal arguments and protecting clients' rights in court.
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence, ensuring that all communications are clear, professional, and accurately reflect the attorneys' intentions.
- Maintain case files and organize documents for court filings, ensuring that all paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Schedule client meetings and court appearances, coordinating with all parties involved to ensure that schedules are aligned and deadlines are met.
- Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation, ensuring that all relevant facts and details are collected to build a strong case.
- Assist with trial preparation and attend court hearings as needed, providing support to attorneys during critical phases of litigation.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in the legal case management system, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and easily accessible.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a paralegal certificate or equivalent experience in the legal field. While experience in family law is highly preferred, candidates with a strong legal background and the necessary skills may also be considered.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures, which is essential for effectively supporting attorneys and clients in family law cases.
- Proficient in legal research using Lexis-Nexis or similar databases, enabling thorough and accurate information gathering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, crucial for drafting documents and interacting with clients and legal professionals.

- Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus, as it facilitates efficient case tracking and management.

Salary Information:
The pay for this full-time position starts from per hour, as provided by the employer.

Additional Information:
The job requires the ability to commute to or relocate to Victorville, CA 92392 before starting work. The work location is in person, and the schedule consists of an 8-hour shift.
