Job Title: Construction Claims Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of claims examiners with varying levels of experience.
- Oversee resolution of claims ranging from low to high complexity, providing guidance, coaching, and training.
- Report to the Director or Senior Director of claims, conveying organizational objectives and measuring progress towards goals.
- Confirm claims coverage by reviewing policies and supporting documents.
- Direct and monitor new loss assignments related to construction bodily injury claims.
- Review and approve important correspondence and reports, including coverage position letters and Large Loss Reports.
- Approve reserves and settlements exceeding the authority of the handling specialist.
- Recommend reserve changes to Director or Senior Management.
- Participate in discussions of large loss activity within the general liability sector with stakeholders such as Underwriting, Actuarial, and Executive Management.
- Ensure adherence to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal performance objectives by the team.
- Assess individual and team performance, providing feedback and identifying training needs.
- Prepare and distribute reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Assist in budget preparation, expense evaluation, and resource assessment.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders like Underwriting and Actuarial departments.
- Promote and enhance relationships with customers and channel partners.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Travel to other claim offices, mediations, trials, and conferences as required.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree is considered a plus.
- Must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license.
- Successful achievement of industry designations such as INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU, or I-Lead or other Management Training.
- Minimum of 10 years of claims handling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successful completion of 5 years as a Senior Claims Specialist or Executive Claims Specialist is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement.
Salary Information:
- The base salary for the position ranges from $90,500 to $150,900, with a 25% bonus potential. Salary is based on factors such as education, experience, training, licensure, competencies, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
Additional Information:
- Company offers hybrid working schedules with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
- US Work Authorization is required, and the company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
