The selected candidate will be responsible for enforcing the South Carolina Underground Facility Damage Prevention Act and providing legal advice and representation in civil litigation matters.

Salary Information:
- Hiring Range: - per hour (Band 6)
- Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)

Experience:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Must be a member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
- Knowledge and ability to interpret the laws of South Carolina
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Some overnight travel may be required

Job Responsibilities:
- Enforce the South Carolina Underground Facility Damage Prevention Act, including reviewing complaints, evaluating responses, determining violations, and issuing fines
- Assist with Freedom of Information Requests, extradition hearings, and state employee grievance hearings
- Provide legal advice and counsel on all assignments through research and preparation of documents
- Handle miscellaneous duties and specific litigation or special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Member and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
- Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements

- May be required to travel and transport files
