Job Title: Docketing & Court Services Clerk
Job Responsibilities:
The Docketing & Court Services Clerk is tasked with providing first-level support for the law firm's automated docket and calendar system and procedures, specifically within the DC Metro Area, including Virginia and Maryland (DMV), as well as for federal cases. Key responsibilities include routine data entry, daily maintenance, and communication with case teams. Specific duties encompass:
- Entering docket dates from court documents and correspondence under the guidance and supervision of attorneys, ensuring accurate maintenance of data in the CourtAlert system.
- Preparing and distributing reports from the docketing system, such as weekly lawyer deadlines reports and other case-specific reports as required.
- Offering support and oversight for information workflows related to scheduling, calendaring, and procedures in litigation matters within the DC office and assisting law firm lawyers in other offices as necessary.
- Evaluating processes and recommending improvements to the current systems and procedures related to docketing for DC cases.
- Responding to requests related to litigation scheduling, court rules, and other inquiries from lawyers and staff working on DC cases.
- Providing first-level support for DMV state and federal ECF, other pleadings and court papers filing, and case record file access and administration.
- Assisting with general paralegal tasks in the DC office as available.
- Performing other duties as assigned by law firm management.
- Upholding high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity, particularly with respect to sensitive and/or confidential firm and client information.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of two years of docketing or similar litigation calendar database experience at an AMLAW 100 or 200 firm is required.
- Hands-on experience with a strong working knowledge of the CourtAlert system is necessary.
- Familiarity with DMV and federal court rules, including local rules of the various courts in the DMV, is essential.
- The candidate must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with a strong service orientation.
- The ability to work under pressure and a willingness to work reasonable overtime as needed is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is necessary.
- Prior experience as a paralegal is considered a plus.
- A degree from an accredited . college or university is required.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $100,500, depending on experience level and location. Candidates hired for staff positions with a minimum work schedule of 30 hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare insurance.
