Overview:
- Gain real-world experience in social work, psychology, or management support services
- Provide direct and indirect services in various local and area offices
- Work closely with the Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) and DCF Central Offices
- Develop skills in writing, legal research, and communication with agencies
Requirements:
- Must be a current college student
- Fingerprints, outside activity questionnaire, and background checks may be required
- Driving record must have less than five points in the past five years
- No DUI convictions in the past five years
- No more than three motor vehicle violations or license suspensions in the past five years (excluding parking violations)
Office: Legal Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and summarize Appellate and Supreme Court decisions that impact the department
- Work with the Administrative Hearings Unit to review and process appeals
- Assist in writing final agency decisions after Office of Administrative Law hearings
- Collaborate with the immigration unit to address immigration issues facing the population served by DCF
