Corporate Counsel, Government & Regulatory Litigation - Services LLC
Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated Corporate Counsel to join our Government & Regulatory Litigation team. This position will be responsible for managing and supervising government disputes and regulatory engagements across all of Amazon's businesses. The successful candidate will also advise the company on legal and business risk management issues.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise government disputes and regulatory engagements
- Interact with government officials, including regulators and law enforcement
- Direct overall case and matter strategy
- Select and manage outside counsel
- Assess risk and coordinate with senior leadership on risk management
- Counsel internal stakeholders on complex legal and policy issues
- Manage all stages of litigation, including discovery
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of litigation and regulatory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at a law firm and federal or state government agency
- Federal judicial clerkship
- Trial experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Familiarity with retail, Internet, software, and/or media industries and their legal and regulatory environment
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Experience advising senior executives
- Crisis management and response experience
- Strong ethical standards and professional integrity

Compensation:
- Base pay ranges from $138,500/year to $229,000/year, depending on geographic market and job-related factors
