This job opportunity is for the position of Chief of Staff to the President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees at **Members Only** in Pittsburgh. The Chief of Staff will work closely with the President on various administrative and executive duties, special projects, and initiatives, as well as serve as the main point of contact between the President and other stakeholders. The Chief of Staff will also be responsible for promoting and supporting the mission and values of **Members Only**, serving as Secretary to the Board of Trustees, and assisting with community relations. This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of professional administration experience supporting senior level managers. A Master's or Juris Doctor degree is preferred, and experience in higher education or governmental and external relations is preferred. The successful candidate must have the ability to operate flexibly and consistently, represent the President in decision making, and possess working knowledge of policies and practices in higher education. Essential Functions:
- Serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees and works closely with the University President in Board-related communications and initiatives.
- Primary writer of speeches, remarks, talking points, articles, opinion editorials, blog entries, and other public or internal comments by the President.
- Creates presentations for the President.
- Directs special projects and programs as initiated by the University President to include the President's Advisory Council.
- Assists the President and appropriate members of the Cabinet with the coordination, facilitation, and advancement of University priorities and other initiatives involving the University's relationship with local, state and/or regional agencies, representatives, their staff members, and committees.
- Produces reports, agendas, dashboards and provides support for the minutes for Cabinet and Office of President.
- Assists with building project and program plans to support initiatives of the Office of President.
- Assists the President in managing priorities to maximize these relationships with the Board, donors, alumni, students, and other key groups and individuals, under the direction and coordination of the President.
- Handles queries, questions, concerns, and requests on behalf of the President working to solve problems, mediate disputes, and work proactively with issues and people.
- Represents the University as needed both locally and regionally as well as keep abreast of local, state, and regional events and issues relative to **Members Only**'s involvement.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's or Juris Doctor degree preferred.
- A minimum of seven (7) years professional administration experience supporting senior level managers required.
- Experience supporting senior level managers in higher education or related environment strongly preferred.
- Governmental and external relations preferred.
