Job Title: Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal at the law firm plays a vital role in supporting attorneys by assisting in various aspects of case management. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, and organizing information, and drafting legal pleadings, discovery summaries and responses, motions, and other documents. The Paralegal works collaboratively with assigned attorneys and support staff to prepare legal documentation and process transactions. Key duties involve interviewing clients and expert witnesses, reviewing and summarizing discovery, drafting legal documents such as discovery motions, summary judgment motions, appellate briefs, affidavits, memoranda, and letters. The Paralegal also investigates factual information to respond to litigation discovery requests or other inquiries, performs legal research and analysis, manages cases and files, organizes and maintains files, and assists in all phases of case preparation including discovery and trial. Additional responsibilities include preparing for and attending trials, reviewing and finalizing litigation budgets, preparing jury instructions and trial binders, coordinating trial exhibits, monitoring legal fees, budgets, and project status, and providing general logistical help. The Paralegal is also involved in the development and implementation of office systems and procedures as needed. A high level of professionalism is required in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues, and other related duties may be assigned by management.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Paralegal position must have three or more years of related experience or the equivalent. Certification from an ABA-approved paralegal training program or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor's degree (.) in a related field or equivalent is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess strong research skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent grammatical and spelling skills. Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft products is necessary, along with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The ability to manage priorities and workflow, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions are essential. Candidates should be able to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels, demonstrate good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions, and be a creative, flexible, and innovative team player. The ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees, versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm are important. Acute attention to detail, the demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects, and the ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures are required. Effective communication with people at all levels and from various backgrounds is essential, and candidates must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Salary Information:
The Paralegal position at the law firm offers a competitive salary of $37 - $45 per hour.
