Law Firm Billing Coordinator - Accounting Department - Full-Time
H1: Join Our Team as a Law Firm Billing Coordinator in the Accounting Department!
H2: Essential Functions:
- Assist with distribution of monthly Proformas and work closely with attorneys to review and edit them
- Review and send out finalized invoices, ensuring accuracy
- Prepare cover letters and reports to accompany invoices
- Provide supporting documentation for billing
- Respond to billing inquiries in a timely manner
- Identify and resolve billing inaccuracies
- Assist with unpaid invoice resolution
- Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys
- Monitor work in process and follow up with attorneys
- Review documents for compliance with client guidelines and fee arrangements
- Request refund checks for clients when necessary
- Maintain billing notes in portal
- Review billing rates and ensure compliance
- Review aged/unbilled work in process and provide updates to Billing Supervisor
- Verify accuracy of billing records and statements
- Adhere to firm and client billing guidelines and policies
- Work collaboratively with billing specialists and attorney teams
- Adhere to firm policies while maintaining confidentiality

- Perform other related duties as assigned
H1: Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a law firm or legal department
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and time and billing software
- Ability to work independently with initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Outstanding customer service skills
H2: Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Office setting with standard equipment such as computers, telephones, and printers
- Sedentary work, primarily sitting with occasional walking and standing
- Close visual acuity for data analysis, transcribing, and computer work
