Job Responsibilities
As a 2L Summer Associate within the Finance Business Unit at a leading law firm, the responsibilities include:
- Being a full member of the law firm's 2026 Summer Associate Program, specifically within the Finance Business Unit.
- Performing substantive work across the law firm's varied practices and offices.
- Engaging in assignments overseen by law firm partner sponsors who will provide networking opportunities and career coaching tailored to the finance sector. This includes practice groups such as Banking & Finance, Public Finance, Real Estate, Restructuring, and Structured Finance.
- Gaining a better understanding of the practice of law, with opportunities to shadow attorneys and participate in national and local trainings, including workshops on legal writing skills and effective speaking.
- Participating in unique programming and events designed to build connections with fellow Summer Associates and law firm attorneys, including social programming like sushi-making classes, sports events, and other recreational activities.
Education and Experience Information
Applicants must be rising 2Ls (class of 2027) pursuing a JD at an ABA-accredited law school. Eligibility extends to 2Ls attending a part-time program or pursuing a JD/MBA degree at an ABA-accredited law school, who are not graduating in 2027.
The firm seeks entrepreneurial, determined, and engaged students with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in the Finance Business Unit. This includes relevant past work experience and/or academic exposure in finance-related fields.
Candidates must provide a resume, transcript (including Spring semester grades when available), and a cover letter articulating their interest in both the position and the firm.
Salary Information
The expected gross salary for the position is $4, per week. The law firm is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package, which may include an annual discretionary merit bonus based on firm and individual performance.
