Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Trademark Paralegal is tasked with supporting the Intellectual Property Practice under the supervision of the Intellectual Property Practice Manager. The role primarily involves handling various patent prosecution support and administrative tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting trademark prosecution documents.
- Providing docketing support services.
- Assisting with the preparation of . trademark filings.
- Reviewing formality notices and preparing reporting letters.
- Recognizing and reporting office actions generated by the USPTO.
- Preparing reporting letters for granted trademark registration certificates.
- Preparing and sending reminder letters.
- Coordinating foreign trademark application filings with attorneys and foreign counsel.
- Monitoring the trademark docket and proactively preparing for upcoming deadlines.
- Providing backup support for trademark docketing as needed.
- Organizing and maintaining paper files and file room upkeep.
- Maintaining client folders within the Document Management System (DMS), including uploading, organizing, and archiving documents.
- Maintaining confidentiality of organizational information.
- Performing various other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
The Paralegal must possess the following skills and abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including MS Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with IP docketing systems.
- Aptitude for learning other office-related software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for overtime.
- Ability to identify and evaluate issues and act proactively toward resolution.
- Positive, professional, and friendly demeanor.
- High degree of responsiveness, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Education and Experience:
The educational and experience requirements for the position are:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certification(s).
- A minimum of 3 years working in the legal industry.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this part-time position is to per hour.
