Job Title: Legal Secretary
Job Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys with calendaring and scheduling.
- Process mail and perform electronic/paper filing.
- Interact with clients, courts, and counsel throughout the litigation process on behalf of the attorney.
- Apply specialized knowledge of legal procedures.
- Request and bookmark medical records.
- Follow up on discovery processes.
- Draft routine correspondence, motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
Education and Experience Information:
- 2-5 years of recent civil defense litigation secretarial experience, preferably in insurance defense or personal injury.
- Experience in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with local and state rules regarding pleadings, pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements is strongly preferred.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize urgent and non-urgent tasks.
- Experience with medical record requests and discovery processes.
- Experience in drafting simple motions and pleadings.
- E-filing experience with New York E-filing procedures.
- Ability to adapt to a corporate law environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including proofreading, attention to detail, and formatting.
- Accurate typing skills.
Technology/Software Experience Required:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of Case Management systems.

Salary Information:
- Potential starting salary range: $64, - $70,.
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience.
- The high end of the range is limited to applicants with significant relevant experience.
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 9% of base salary.
