Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Draft Discovery responses. Trial preparation including preparing notebooks and exhibits. Draft and Serve Discovery Requests for Production and Interrogatories. Manage a case load of 30 cases at any given time. Prepare cases for mediations and settlement conferences by reviewing files, obtaining documents, communicating with clients and attorneys. Assist and potentially attend attorney - client meetings. Handle cases from inception through resolution. Gather and analyze information relevant to the case. Extensive review and knowledge of each case. Maintain contact with clients on a consistent basis. Docketing and Calendaring. Organization and maintenance of case files.
Requirements: Must have ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to operate Microsoft Office software programs and familiarity with records management systems. Have knowledge of concepts, terminology, and procedures of litigation cases and trials. Continuously assist attorney in keeping cases well-organized and current. Frequent communication with clients to provide case information and updates. Ability to multi-task required while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and meet deadlines. Time management, professional communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and within a team-based structure. Outstanding proofreading. Ability to follow and take direction. Maintain focus and concentration throughout the day. Experience filing on Colorado Courts E-Filing and CMF/ECF. Extensive contact with clients and attorneys. Familiarity with medical records. Knowledge of the Colorado and Federal Rules of Procedure. Have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast pace environment; have great people skills as the position requires a great deal of client contact; be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; have exceptional communication and written skills; have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software. Preferences: Bachelor's degree. 1 year of experience in a law firm setting preferred.
