Job Title: Senior Coordinator, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Coordinator, Legal Recruiting & Associate Life at the law firm is tasked with a comprehensive range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the effective recruitment and development of attorneys within the Washington, DC office. The role involves close collaboration with the recruiting team to manage attorney recruitment efforts, organize the summer associate program, and support attorney professional development and inclusion initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating the campus registration process for fall on-campus interviews, which involves collaborating with the Manager of Legal Recruiting & Associate Life and Partners to determine interview schedules.
- Providing candidate interview status updates to Recruiting Committee Partners during the OCI (On-Campus Interview) season.
- Scheduling attorneys to conduct interviews with candidates both virtually and on-site.
- Communicating and coordinating follow-up visits for candidates who have received offers.
- Developing a Summer Associate event calendar with the DC recruiting team and proposing, planning, and executing events.
- Coordinating Summer Associate assignments, evaluations, and review processes, and preparing review packets for Partners.
- Completing bar admission forms and tracking the admission process.
- Coordinating lateral recruiting for the office and ensuring that all attorneys maintain good standing.
- Communicating with Summer Associates between the completion of the Summer Associate program and onboarding in the fall.
- Assisting with the development of the annual recruiting budget.
- Maintaining familiarity with general and regional legal recruiting trends and attending the annual NALP Conference as requested.

Additional duties include supporting existing mentoring programs to enhance their success, contributing to the development and implementation of inclusion programming and affinity group events, tracking expenses related to the inclusion budget, and providing budget reports to the Manager of Legal Recruiting & Associate Life. The coordinator is also responsible for updating, maintaining, and ensuring staffing for law school and inclusion events, facilitating Career Services and Law School relationship building, and promoting the firm’s presence on campus. Drafting newsletters for the Women’s Initiative and Parents Affinity Group, coordinating with the Legal Recruiting, Legal Talent & Professional Development teams on inclusion initiatives, and drafting correspondence related to these initiatives are also part of the role. The Senior Coordinator may be assigned other duties as needed.

Education:

Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Skills and Experience:

Required:
- A minimum of 3 years’ recruiting experience in a law firm or professional services office environment is essential.
- The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced setting, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, exhibit strong organizational ability, be detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing and completing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work overtime, especially from April to August, is necessary.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is crucial.
- The candidate must develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, maintain a client-focused mentality, and exhibit a professional demeanor.
- Maintaining confidential information and exercising discretion is essential.

Preferred:
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.

Physical Demands:

The role requires sedentary work, involving exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The job primarily involves sitting, with occasional walking, lifting, carrying, pulling/pushing, and bending/stooping/kneeling/crouching. The work requires reaching with hands and arms in any direction.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of office or administrative work, with normal light, air, and space, and the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Salary Information:

For the Washington, DC area, the estimated base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications, or other professional licenses held, and the location from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay.
