Job Title: Court Attorney JG - 23

Job Responsibilities:
Court Attorneys are responsible for researching and analyzing legal issues and questions, as well as performing other related duties in a confidential capacity under the supervision of judges or groups of judges. They serve in various courts, including Supreme Court, County Court, Surrogate's Court, the Court of Claims, Family Court, District Court, the Criminal Court and Civil Court of the City of New York, and City Courts with two or more full-time judges. Specific duties include:
- Researching and analyzing legal issues in Child Custody, Visitation, Guardianship, and Family Offense matters
- Conferencing cases daily with attorneys and litigants
- Drafting memoranda and decisions/orders
- Managing routine email communications with attorneys
- Managing the Court’s case inventory

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires admission to the New York State Bar or graduation from an accredited law school with admission to the New York State Bar within 18 months of appointment. Having family law experience and strong organizational skills are considered advantageous.

Salary Information:
The base salary for the position is $84,659, with an additional $4,920 location pay.
