Job Summary:

The **Members Only**'s Office (AGO) is currently seeking dedicated and experienced Assistant Attorney Generals to join our team. In this role, you will perform complex legal work on behalf of the State of Arizona, providing legal advice, counsel, and representation to protect the state's interests. Our office has jurisdiction over a wide range of cases, including consumer fraud, white collar crime, public corruption, and environmental laws. We are seeking attorneys for various divisions within the AGO, including our Child and Family Protection Division, which has openings available statewide.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal representation and advice in complex cases in both state and federal court.
• Prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and investigations, interview clients, review evidence, and conduct discovery.
• Respond to inquiries from law enforcement and the general public.
• Attend meetings and trainings as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable statutes, case law, and court rules.
• Familiarity with legal techniques and concepts of American Jurisprudence.
• Understanding of the practical factors that impact litigation decisions, including opposing counsel strategies and victim/witness considerations.
• Knowledge of financial considerations for the state.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently prepare legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
• Trial and negotiating skills.
• Interpersonal skills for interacting with court personnel, agency personnel, victims, and government agencies.
• Ability to identify legal issues, analyze and articulate legal arguments, and assess evidence.
• Effective planning, organization, and direction of complex investigations and cases.
• Coordination of activities with multiple law enforcement and government agencies.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and encourage teamwork.
• Management of high-volume, high-exposure cases.
• Effective utilization of subordinate staff.
• Professional and ethical behavior.
• Good judgment in making strategic decisions and providing legal advice.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Valid Arizona Driver's License and consent to have driving record periodically checked.
• Admission to and good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
• Writing sample submitted with resume/application profile.
• Fingerprinting and criminal background check.
