Job Title: Law Clerk for 2025 Fall Semester Clerkships

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct client interviews and prepare initial case statements.
- Prepare clients for trials and assist in obtaining discovery and other evidence.
- Write briefs and other legal memoranda.
- Participate in community outreach and education.
- Assist self-represented litigants.
- Represent clients at administrative hearings and state court hearings/trials.
- Participate in broader impact litigation.
- Draft writs of mandamus to Superior Court and California appellate court.
- Engage with litigants in the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic, assisting them through the process of seeking civil domestic violence restraining orders, including related child custody, visitation, and support orders.

Education and Experience Information:
- Completion of the first year of law school is required.
- A passion for social justice and poverty-related issues is essential.
- Sensitivity to working with people from diverse backgrounds is necessary.
- Students who have completed the required Evidence Course are encouraged to become certified by the California State Bar to represent clients in court.
