Job Title: Summer Law Student Clerkship
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist tenants in addressing habitability issues
- Provide limited scope representation in eviction cases
- Offer Pro Per assistance with eviction cases
- Deliver limited and full scope representation in hearings before the Oakland Rent Adjustment Program
- Work under the supervision of housing attorneys to support monolingual Spanish-speaking tenants
- Prepare Pro Per answers to unlawful detainer complaints and relevant motions
- Potentially represent tenant clients at hearings before the Oakland Rent Adjustment Program contesting rent increases and seeking rent reductions for decreased housing services
- Assist with the organization's housing clinics
Education and Experience Information:
