Job Title: Senior Litigator
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle and manage cases with a focus on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters.
- Protect the client's interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases.
- Manage case load and bill time hourly.
- Attend mediations, trials, hearings, and other duties as assigned.
- Travel as needed for case requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with all team members.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
- Possessing a dual license in Texas is a plus.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of eight years of litigation/courtroom experience, with foreclosure experience being a plus.
- Must be a member of the state Bar and maintain all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
- Subject matter expert in their field.
- Proficient in legal research and writing.
- Skilled in taking and defending depositions.
- Proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters.
- Proficiency with Fastcase or Westlaw.
- Well-versed in the rules of evidence, introducing evidence, and civil procedure in both state and federal court.
