Job Title: Paralegal, Child Custody & Visitation (Spanish)

Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal for Child Custody & Visitation will be part of the SASH (Sargent Shriver Child Custody) team within the organization. The primary responsibility is to support the organization’s mission of improving community access to legal services, particularly in areas related to child custody and visitation matters. The candidate will assist attorneys in preparing for court proceedings, manage case files, and ensure all legal documents are accurately filed and maintained. Additional duties include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and providing administrative support. The paralegal will also be responsible for communicating with clients, ensuring they understand the legal processes, and providing translation services for Spanish-speaking clients.

Education and Experience:
Candidates must possess a four-year degree and have at least two years of experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a legal or nonprofit environment, particularly dealing with child custody and visitation issues, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking clients. The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Salary Information:
The base pay for this position ranges from to per hour. The position is classified as non-exempt, meaning the employee is eligible for overtime pay according to applicable laws.
