Job Title: IP Patent Paralegal/Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal/Specialist is responsible for providing legal support related to patent matters within the law firm. Key duties include:

- Coordinating domestic and international patent filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign law offices or entities.
- Maintaining a docket system to track due dates for various actions, such as responses, renewals, oppositions, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) requirements, and the payment of patent annuities in foreign countries.
- Preparing and filing documents with the USPTO or foreign counsel.
- Preparing and recording assignments and drafting correspondence to clients.
- Compiling status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
- Reviewing and responding to correspondence from foreign associates.
- Obtaining legalizations and certifications.
- Conducting research and compiling information on national and international patent rights, including searches of USPTO records, industry databases, and general legal research.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires the following educational qualifications and experience:

- A Bachelor's degree and Paralegal certification are preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in patent-related work is required.
- Familiarity with . and foreign patent processes, including prosecution, maintenance, and renewals, is essential.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and the ability to work with databases such as Innovation, PATTSY, and Lexis/Nexis.
- The candidate must possess problem-solving abilities, work independently, handle confidential information discreetly, and produce consistently accurate work.
- Exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, the ability to multi-task under pressure, and strong attention to detail and follow-up skills are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, an excellent work ethic, and a commitment to professionalism are required.
- A willingness to learn and utilize new research materials and practice tools is expected.

Salary Information:
The law firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package for the position of Intellectual Property Patent Paralegal/Specialist. The anticipated annual pay range for this non-exempt role is between $55,000 and $75,000. The actual pay rate offered will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
