Job Title: Executive Compensation Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Executive Compensation Attorney at the law firm include counseling employers and executives on all aspects of compensation planning and equity incentive arrangements. The attorney will work with a diverse clientele that ranges from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses, private equity firms, and executives or executive management teams. Key responsibilities involve:
- Managing sophisticated compensation plan issues, particularly those that arise during mergers and acquisitions.
- Providing efficient, creative, and forward-thinking legal advice related to the design, taxation, compliance, governance, implementation, and negotiation of executive compensation arrangements.
- Working independently and collaboratively within the tax and employee benefits practice to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the executive compensation area.
- Experience with equity compensation and nonqualified benefit plan design.
- Benefits-related transactional experience is desired.
- Public company executive compensation disclosure expertise is considered a plus.
