Job Title: Hearing Representative (Liens)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume caseload, which includes Lien files, Walk Throughs, and Contribution Issues.
- Prepare, draft, obtain, and file legal documents and pleadings.
- Conduct research relevant to each request for workers' compensation cases.
- Communicate effectively with all relevant parties involved in a case.
- Attend all case-related hearings and negotiate settlements.
- Prepare proposals to resolve each lien or case.
- Maintain detailed case notes.
- Travel to assigned Workers Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) locations.
- Enter billing notes according to different client specifications.
- Meet required billable hours.
- Represent the law firm and its clients with respect and integrity.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Hearing Representative related to liens and walk throughs is required, specifically within the CA Workers’ Compensation Defense.
- In-depth knowledge of CA Workers’ Compensation law is essential.
- A general understanding of the workers’ compensation system, including EAMS, E-filing, and the AME/PQME process, is required.
- Preferred candidates will have Lien Trial experience.
- Candidates should be highly motivated, results-driven, with high energy and a sense of urgency.
- Strong attention to detail is necessary, with the ability to observe details on a computer or other electronic screens.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand is essential.
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently with little supervision is necessary.
- A client-focused approach with a commitment to outstanding customer service and the ability to deliver results is expected.
- The ability to handle adversarial litigation environments is required.
Salary Information:
- The position offers a salary range of $75, to $110, per year.
