Job Title: Senior, Value Added Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior, the primary responsibility is to assist businesses in effectively managing their indirect taxes. This includes providing tax technical support, guidance on implementing effective processes, and leveraging technology solutions. The job entails advising . and foreign multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations, particularly with VAT/GST and other transaction-based taxes. Responsibilities extend to working directly with clients and liaising with indirect tax colleagues in the company's global network, integrating indirect tax planning into clients’ overall business strategies, and helping clients comply with complex international indirect tax requirements. This may involve scenarios such as mergers or acquisitions, global ERP implementations, maintaining compliance with multi-jurisdictional business transactions, or streamlining multinational supply chains. The role also includes helping clients reduce costs, manage tax compliance risk, and increase confidence that nothing has been missed, often through technology-based compliance management solutions.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this position include the ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, which requires . Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week. The candidate should have over three years of experience working in indirect tax, preferably with multinational companies. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field is required. The ability to travel up to 25%, depending on the work, clients, and industries served, is also necessary. Candidates must have one of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or be willing and able to obtain: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA, or if not CPA eligible, one of the other designations based on role requirements and business approval, which includes a list of various professional certifications and licenses.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience with a Big 4 firm, public accounting, or consulting, experience working in a fast-paced, team environment, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and an advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM. Experience in supply chain restructuring, data analytics, or compliance, along with an in-depth indirect tax background in one or more jurisdictions with first-hand experience applying indirect tax knowledge in a range of industries, is also preferred.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $73,430 to $167,180. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
