Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable about case law relevant to the type of law practiced by the law firm.
- Prepare cases for USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) and EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review).
- Prepare cases for consulate processing.
- Meet with clients and write notes for various legal statements, including asylum statements, extreme hardship statements, witness statements, and family court statements.
- Draft simple motions such as adjournments, re-calendars, web-ex submissions, and prosecutorial discretion requests (terminate/dismiss or administrative closure).
- Prepare evidence packets for USCIS and EOIR cases, which includes readying materials for proceedings, gathering documents, evidence, and verifying factual information.
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
- E-file documents to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and submit filings to EOIR and USCIS.
- Research and compile information to strengthen legal cases.
- Communicate with lawyers and clients to ensure everyone is informed and up to date.
- Prepare case briefs or summaries for EOIR and family court dates.
- Enter and scan information and documents into the electronic case management system (Cerenade).

Education and Experience Information:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law is preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish is required.

Salary Information:
- The pay range for this position is to per hour.
- Salary is based on experience.

Other Information:
- This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday to Friday and every other Saturday as needed.
- The work location is in person at one location.
- The position does not offer remote work.
