Job Title: Senior e-Discovery Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior e-Discovery Attorney at the law firm is tasked with providing expertise and leadership in the realm of eDiscovery for various legal cases. The key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with case teams and clients to develop and execute eDiscovery strategies.
- Planning and supervising the collection, review, and production of documents.
- Acting as a liaison between eDiscovery vendors, clients, and case teams.
- Managing document reviews, creating privilege logs, and ensuring quality control processes.
- Assisting with advocacy review, deposition preparation, and other document-related support as needed.
- Preparing eDiscovery budgets and negotiating rates and terms with eDiscovery vendors.
- Leading or co-leading custodian interviews and determining the scope and process for document collection.
- Developing and negotiating search protocols, search terms, and scope agreements with opposing parties.
- Drafting and negotiating Technology Assisted Review (TAR) protocols, ESI Protocols, Search Disclosures, Confidentiality Orders, Discovery Timelines, and Scope Agreements.
- Participating in or leading meet and confer sessions with opposing parties/agencies on eDiscovery topics.
- Drafting and/or editing Responses and Objections to Requests for Production (RFPs) and subpoenas.
- Researching case law across jurisdictions to support discovery motion practice.
- Collaborating with vendors and clients on collections of emerging data sources.
- Drafting or editing eDiscovery correspondence with opposing parties and government agencies.
- Advising other eDiscovery Attorneys on best practices and troubleshooting.
- Educating the firm's attorneys, including the eDiscovery group, about eDiscovery case law, rules, and best practices.
- Staying updated on new trends and best practices in eDiscovery.
- Working on special projects as needed by the eDiscovery team or firm management.
- Minimal travel is required, and the position often requires more than 35 hours per week to fulfill essential duties.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
Candidates for the Senior e-Discovery Attorney position should possess the following qualifications:

- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and at least 10 years of eDiscovery experience.
- Proven track record in managing complex eDiscovery projects.
- Thorough knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle, from information governance to production, including various technologies and strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to confer with government agencies or opposing parties on eDiscovery matters.
- Experience with Second Requests and complex high-stakes litigations.
- High-level understanding of Relativity and analytics tools, including TAR.
- Solid understanding of privilege and work product doctrines.
- Knowledge of privacy and cross-border issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong presentation skills for partners, clients, and adverse parties.
- Ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines independently.
- Experience managing stakeholders at all levels and handling competing demands.
- Commitment to high standards of quality and integrity.
- Highly analytical, professional, with strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Technically savvy, flexible, versatile, and self-motivated.
- Must be barred in the state of their office or eligible to sit for the bar exam.

Salary Information:
The position is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt level role. The final rate of pay will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, with a targeted hiring range of $200,000 - $220,000 annually, where the upper range is reserved for highly qualified applicants. The position may be fully remote, hybrid, or in-office based, with off-site employees required to be situated within an approved jurisdiction and perform work from locations such as Washington DC, MD, CA, CT, NY, or NJ.
