The Circuit Court for Somerset County is currently seeking a Law Clerk to join our team for the 2025-2026 term. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. The Law Clerk will provide legal support to the Honorable Daniel W. Powell and will be responsible for preparing memoranda and opinions, conducting legal research, and attending court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to the Judge
- Prepare memoranda and opinions
- Conduct legal research
- Prepare cases for docket
- Review case files and motions
- Perform duties related to case management
- Attend court daily
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school (or expected to receive by May 2025)
- Excellent legal writing and research skills
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and court procedures
- Familiarity with case progression from filing to post-judgement proceedings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to compose orders and memoranda
- Ability to apply policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws as required
