Job Title: Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings: The candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing legal data from various sources to assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents: The candidate will aid in the creation and examination of documents such as contracts, briefs, pleadings, appeals, and other legal paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes: The candidate will gather and analyze relevant information and evidence that can support the resolution and negotiation of legal disputes.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations: The candidate will be tasked with keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and ensuring that the firm adheres to all applicable legal regulations.
- Record and store client information: The candidate will maintain accurate and confidential records of client information, ensuring it is stored securely and is easily retrievable.
- Answer phones: The candidate will manage incoming calls, providing assistance and directing inquiries to the appropriate parties.
- Communication with clients: The candidate will be responsible for maintaining professional and effective communication with clients, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Maintain calendar: The candidate will organize and manage the calendar for the legal team, scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings to ensure efficient time management.
Education and Experience Information:
- Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field - at least 3 years: The candidate should possess a minimum of three years of experience in a paralegal or similar legal role, demonstrating familiarity with legal procedures and practices.
- Familiarity with legal research: The candidate should have experience conducting legal research, utilizing various resources and databases to gather pertinent information.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask: The candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Strong communication skills are essential for drafting documents, corresponding with clients, and collaborating with team members.
- Deadline and detail-oriented: The candidate should demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Good organizational skills: The candidate must have strong organizational abilities to manage files, documents, and schedules effectively.
Salary Information:
- Compensation: $35,000 to $41,000 per year
