Litigation Paralegal The candidate will research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents for attorneys according to established policies and procedures. Continual review and management of case files from inception through mediation/arbitration/trial. Prepare subpoenas compelling depositions and/or document productions. Prepare initial discovery, ., interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions. Prepare draft responses to discovery, including document productions and corresponding privilege logs. Monitor deadlines for responses and timeliness. Prepare attorneys for depositions. Prepare deposition summaries/abstracts. Research, vet and engage with subject matter experts. Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, factual chronologies, medical chronologies, agreements, depositions and/or trial binders for use by attorneys. Record/capture billable time in compliance with client guidelines. Investigate facts as requested by attorney. Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Prepare trial subpoenas, trial notebooks, exhibit lists and witness lists; engage in witness management; schedule trial testimony; prepare and manipulate trial exhibit presentations and other trial-related stats as necessary. Attend trial as necessary. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Should have 3+ years of general civil litigation experience. Transactional experience is a plus. Experience with trial preparation and participation/attendance, including organization of witness materials and preparation of physical and electronic exhibits; experience with exhibit manipulation software such as Sanction/Trial Director/TrialPad, Relativity and PowerPoint. Must have working knowledge of internet software, Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word software, Adobe Acrobat Pro, LexisNexis, Pacer, Relativity, Sanction, and TrialPad; E-filing experience in both State and Federal Court systems is preferred. Working knowledge and experience of e-Filing in both State and Federal Court systems is required.
