Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant at the law firm will be responsible for managing accounting operations for six affiliated Limited Liability companies. The key duties include preparing and recording financial transactions such as accounts receivable and payable, payroll entry, cost allocations, general ledger analysis, inter-company transactions, and conducting month and year-end closings. The role follows accounting principles and corporate policies using cash basis accounting. The accountant will ensure timely and accurate recording of all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations of company bank accounts, and undertake month-end close activities and reporting, including reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts. The accountant will assist in preparing monthly financial statements, input payroll information, and process biweekly payroll for small companies with 10-15 employees. Additionally, they will reconcile all credit card purchases to monthly statements, process 1099 forms and other relevant organizational forms, ensure company policies and procedures are followed, and recommend techniques for fraud prevention. Other related accounting and financial duties may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. A minimum of 3-4 years of accounting work experience is required. Additionally, 1-2 years of payroll processing experience is preferred. Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting system is preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.

The candidate must work in-office in Dublin, Ohio, and possess a high level of confidentiality and integrity. The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team is essential. A keen understanding of and adherence to financial accounting and cost accounting standards is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, are necessary. The candidate should be willing to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
