Job Title: Director, Compensation and Benefits
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with the design, implementation, communication, and monitoring of compensation philosophy and strategy.
- Complete complex compensation and benefits projects.
- Provide competitive market data and perform quantitative/qualitative analyses.
- Participate in broad-based compensation engagements for a diverse client base.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by providing timely and effective responses to client needs and concerns.
- Participate in client meetings and work within a team environment to deliver integrated compensation and benefit services.
- Conduct proxy statement studies and analyses of publicly available data sources.
- Benchmark, design, and implement annual incentive and long-term incentive plans.
- Review, create, and implement salary structures for organizations of all sizes.
- Conduct statistical analyses of compensation data and model financial impact.
- Participate in broader projects including performance management, employee benefits, retirement, healthcare, performance optimization, and reward and recognition.
- Engage in marketing initiatives, support on developing compensation work and methodology approaches, writing and supporting proposals, and conducting surveys.
- Lead client engagements and manage staff members on various projects.
- Benchmark compensation and develop reports to support compensation recommendations.
- Design annual and long-term incentive awards considering tax, accounting, and regulatory ramifications.
- Prepare tax calculations and analyses/models to help clients make informed compensation decisions.
- Review/draft technical memorandums and letters related to compensation & benefits issues.
- Manage risk, resources, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements.
- Identify key tax issues and quantify the impact in a clear analysis.
- Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client businesses.
- Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers.
- Regularly support business development efforts, including identifying opportunities for additional work and optimizing compliance processes.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced Degree preferred (., JD, . in Taxation, and/or World at Work Certified).
- 7+ years of related work experience.
- Proven experience leading others while managing multiple work streams.
- Demonstrated success as a trusted tax and business advisor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
- Strong knowledge of compensation and statistical analysis, incentive plan design, and pay structure analysis.
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and manage deadlines effectively.
- High motivation to learn and grow.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Salary Information:
- Salary range is $130,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography.
- Discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
