Job Title: Immigration Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Immigration Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for assisting their assigned attorney by researching law, investigating facts, and preparing documents and applications. They serve as the client's point of contact for each assigned matter. All paralegal duties and functions are supervised by an attorney. Key responsibilities include:
- Keeping cases organized by establishing and organizing files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines, documenting actions and client communication, inputting information into the file database, and confirming case status with the attorney.
- Keeping clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress.
- Assisting the assigned attorney with trial preparation.
- Answering phones and emails promptly.
- Maintaining client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential.
- Attending all assigned client meetings both in person and telephonically.
- Tracking the status of client filings.
- Preparing and composing motions and routine correspondence while acting as a liaison to court personnel.
- Preparing and drafting filings to relevant federal and state agencies.
- Completing indexes, pleadings, exhibits, checklists, motions, and legal research for litigation proceedings.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree with two years of legal experience or an Associate Degree with three years of legal experience is required.
- Certification: A Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
- Experience: The candidate must have two years of immigration experience and two years of customer service experience.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is preferred.

Salary Information:
- The position offers a starting pay of $25 an hour for a full-time role.
