Job Description:
The Maryland Judiciary is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Law Clerk. This is a continuous job opening with full-time, at-will positions available throughout the state as needed. The salary for this position varies depending on the level of court, with first year Appellate Law Clerks earning $68,499 and Circuit Court and District Court Law Clerks earning between $63,119 and $70,120, depending on their bar membership status. This is a regular/temporary, full-time, exempt position with no financial disclosure required.
The Law Clerk will provide legal support to a Judge and will be responsible for conducting legal research, reviewing motions, drafting memoranda, and responding to research questions on a case-by-case basis. They will also attend court proceedings as requested by the Judge and perform various duties based on the level of court. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school and prior legal writing experience is preferred.
