Job Title: Patents Counsel (Electrical Engineering)
Job Responsibilities:
The law firm is seeking a counsel lawyer with a focus on patent prosecution, particularly in the areas of 5G, Wi-Fi, and other wireless technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end. This position is open to both Counsel and Senior Counsel levels, with opportunities for career advancement based on performance and contributions to the firm's practice. The role involves liaising with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios, providing legal advice, and contributing significantly to the field.
Education and Experience Information:
- An Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) is required.
- Candidates must have at least two years of patent prosecution experience.
- Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or qualification to register is necessary.
- Admission to and good standing with the Bar, or eligibility to waive in, is required.
- A strong background in wireless technologies, AI, and related fields is essential.
- Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills are important.
- Preferred experience includes domain knowledge in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields.
Salary Information:
The full-time base annual salary for this position in the New York City, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco markets is expected to range between $225,000 and $315,000. This range represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation. Salaries in other markets may vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed and dependent upon individual and firm performance.
