Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Administrative Assistant at the law firm will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office. The responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the attorneys' calendars, ensuring all appointments, meetings, and deadlines are accurately scheduled and communicated.
- Transcribing and drafting various legal documents, including correspondence, motions, and court orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Managing all office correspondence, which involves answering phone calls, responding to emails, arranging meetings, and coordinating travel plans.
- Assisting with additional tasks as needed within the role to support the attorneys and the overall efficiency of the law firm.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the position of Legal Administrative Assistant, candidates must meet the following educational and experience requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; an associate’s degree is considered a plus.
- Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting, performing administrative tasks.
- Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs is required.
- Applicants must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products is essential.
- A typing speed of at least 50 words per minute (WPM) is required, with preferential hiring treatment for those with a typing speed over 65 WPM or over eight months of recent prior law firm experience.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Legal Administrative Assistant position at the law firm is between $42,000 and $58,500 per year. During the initial three-month probationary period, the starting pay ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, depending on the candidate's experience. After the probationary period, the pay transitions to a salary. Benefits offered include 401(k), dental, vision, and health insurance, which become available after the completion of the probationary period.
