Job Title: Associate Legal Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate various agreements, including those related to consulting, advisory boards, engagements, collaborations, and the purchase of services from vendors.
- Demonstrate an understanding of legal contract concepts, negotiation strategies, efficient administration, and automation of contract processes.
- Work closely with attorneys in the Legal department, Medical and Public Affairs functions of the company’s General Medicines, Specialty Care, and Vaccines Business Units.
- Stay updated on current laws and regulations, including laws and industry standards applicable to contracting with customers such as healthcare providers, patient advisory groups, trade associations, and patients.
- Implement contract negotiation processes by preparing first drafts of a variety of contracts.
- Conduct moderately complex contract drafting and negotiations.
- Interface with internal management and external parties to gather specifications and terms of agreement necessary for contract drafting and negotiations.
- Responsible for entire negotiation processes for one or more types of contracts.
- Communicate company contract policies and requirements to internal managers and employees and highlight areas of concern regarding individual contract projects.
- Determine and initiate required follow-up and/or additional analyses.
- May review and summarize existing contracts internally and/or as part of an external diligence process.
- Oversight for contract templates.
- Assist with and/or handle client training presentations with respect to company policy, compliance policies, privacy, contract approval processes, etc.
- Keep apprised of issues relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and accurately relay this information to clients.
- Work with client groups, third parties, and outside counsel to identify, assess, and address general legal concerns.
- Demonstrate the company’s Play to Win values consistently.
- Prioritize competing projects and set expectations with clients and management.
- Ability to work on teams.
- Perform related duties as required.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification with 3-5 years’ experience in the contract management field is preferred but not required.
- Trained paralegal with 3-5 plus years of experience in an in-house corporate legal department, law firm, or governmental agency. A background in Pharma, Bio-Tech, or Life Sciences is preferred but not required.
Salary Information:
- Salary Range: USD - per hour.
- All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
