The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Labor And Employment Litigation Paralegal The candidates responsibilities include: Prepare litigation documents, including discovery, motion and trial documents. Organize and maintain case materials using traditional and electronic document management systems. Conduct research and gather information using general and legal research tools. Assist attorneys with local court proceedings, coordinating service of process and court filings, both in hard copy and electronically. File pleadings, motions and other documents electronically via CM/ECF and NYSCEF. Other responsibilities as attorney and client needs dictate. Requirements: Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate or appropriate job related experience. 3 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal. Working knowledge of litigation procedures, court structure and court rules and regulations. Experience with electronic case filing in state and federal court, such as CM/ECF and NYSCEF. Experience with Case Logistix, Relativity or other e-discovery or case management software. Experience with employment-related and Fair Labor Standards Act litigation preferred.
