Job Title: Tax Senior, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

As a Tax Senior in the Specialized Tax Services Partnerships, you play a pivotal role in advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, particularly focusing on partnership-specific items. Your responsibilities include:

- Utilizing basic research skills and applying your educational background to assist clients with tax implications related to section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Applying your knowledge and experience to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assisting in the preparation of partnership-specific computations.
- Being an integral part of the team, participating in marketing and business development activities, process improvement, and team-building initiatives.
- Maintaining client relationships and acting as a source of guidance to staff.

Tax Specialization:
- Developing an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues regarding partnership taxation.
- Participating in organizing and conducting effective external CPE training sessions in your area of specialization at least once a year.
- Training and mentoring interns and associates, including teaching them how to use current software tools.

Research:
- Assisting in identifying when research is needed, working with leadership to concisely frame issues for research, and clearly reporting the analysis.
- Identifying complex issues for research by the engagement team and providing research methodology for efficient research processes.
- Training interns and associates on research skills and helping to appropriately frame tax issues for analysis.
- Involving firm specialists as appropriate.

Tax Consulting:
- Assisting with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients’ current and future taxes.
- Collaborating with leadership by applying tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions.
- Working with leadership to maximize client benefits while managing risk.
- Assisting with the implementation of applicable firm strategies and managing client expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participating in scheduling and managing the workload of interns and associates.
- Supervising the day-to-day workload of interns on various projects.
- Reviewing work prepared by interns and associates and providing review comments.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for majors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation is preferred.

Experience:
- A minimum of two years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience is required.
- Specialized partnership experience is preferred.
- Experience in private equity at both the fund and portfolio company levels is preferred.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent designation is preferred.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is preferred.

Software:
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred.
